Backlog refinement
The Backlog Refinement Ceremony is our proprietary tool that allows you to interactively refine, evaluate, and decompose team tasks that you have questions about.
To conduct this ceremony, several important steps must be followed consecutively.
Step 1 - Creating a Backlog Refinement Request
In the first step, you need to create a request to conduct a backlog refinement ceremony - a request to deconstruct an issue.
To do this, you need to select a task from the product backlog, go to the details of this task and click the generate request button.
The Ceremonies screen will display the number of Backlog Refinement Requests
Step 2 - Gather in the room
When team members enters a room, the rest of the team sees a notification that they are expected in the room, as well as a list of users who are already in the room.
Step 3 - Entering the room
The ceremony room displays a list of users who are in this room, as well as a list of tasks that are in the queue for backlog refinement.
A PamaSync message is displayed in the upper corner of the screen - this means that all user actions on all devices are synchronized. If one user starts typing, then all users will see these changes. If a user clicks the create subtask button, the create subtask screen will automatically be displayed to other users
Step 4 - Creating subtasks and correcting fields
All participants of the ceremony adjust the fields in real time, create the required number of subtasks, that is, they specify the task as much as possible
Step 5 - Task estimation
After pressing the button for assessing the task, you go to the assessment ceremony room, where the complexity of the task is estimated in story points using poker planning
Step 6 - Final step
Once all information has been corrected, a sub-task is added, and the estimation is complete, the necessary procedure to complete the procedure given by the backlog for that task.
